The Story of Hanji 📜 Hanji literally means “the paper of Korea”. The main material is the fibrous skin from mulberry trees so it is a strong and long lasting material unlike the regular industrial paper. It is used in a variety of ways and has a different name according to its use. If it is glued on a door it is called a window paper, if used to inscribe written information it is called a family registry book. It is used to also make furniture such as a side night stand, a lamp or even a big chestbox. Join us every Thurdsay morning to discover this Korean traditional medium. You may choose from a variety of objects realizable with Hanji by consulting a catalog on display at the Seorae Global Center. Once you choose your item, we would need at least one week to prepare the starting kit. Material cost is paid in advance prior to the first class. Cash preferred for material fee.
